Why is America such a violent place?

What is the effect in America of all the abortions performed on our soil in the last 100 years? All the Indians that our government killed on what was at one time their land?

Why am I even answering such a question, you might ask? It’s time someone did.

America has a history of wars on its shores – The Civil War, The War of 1812, The American Revolutionary War, WW1, WW2, The Mexican-American War, The French, and Indian Wars, to name a few. All of these happened here or were concerning land that would eventually become part of our county.

The answer, in Bible terms, we are reaping what we’ve been sowing.

Just like an individual, a nation can only reap what it sows.

Seed-Time-Harvest

In the Holy Bible there is a time to sow; then some amount of time that must pass; then it’s time to harvest. Looking at violence in America this concept is working very well.

In the ’50s, variety shows and comedies took up most of the television time; stars used to do on-air commercial endorsements of products. But there were also shows with gun violence.

60’s Television consisted of westerns, mystery shows, emergency programs, family shows, and the introduction of police-related dramas.

The 1970s through today, the violence has escalated more and more each year as has the violence at the movie theater.

In June of 1984, the MPAA introduced a new rating – PG-13 for the movie ‘Red Dawn.’ Up to that time, there were only four ratings possible G, PG, R, and NR. In 1990, for movies with excessive sex or violence, NC-17 was created.

Look at all the TV shows with the word murder in their titles. Look at all the crime shows that examine how the crime was committed, by whom, and how. America is a country obsessed with violence and how to kill.

What about video games? I can still remember the “Gun Slinger” game that came with my Atari system. Today shooting, decapitating, and stabbing are all popular options as a way to kill your opponent and win the game. There are even game controllers in the shape of guns for some games. Hello People! Is anyone listening?

Ever been to a carnival or the fair? There are shooting games there too where you can win a prize of some kind. Again, rewards for killing.

Mass Shootings and Shooters

How do we reward the shooters in these mass shootings we are having in America, we make them famous. It’s an even bigger rush for the ones who survive, seeing themselves on TV while they’re in jail. Many of these killers even have groupies like they were rock stars or something.

In an article posted in 2017, author Nicola Leach says, “What these findings suggest is that mass shootings are a kind of theater. Their purpose is essentially terrorism—minus, in most cases, a political agenda. The public spectacle, the mass slaughter of mostly random victims, is meant to be seen as an attack against society itself. Often these individuals commit suicide, which denies the course of justice, giving the shooter ultimate and final control.

Some of these people who kill are sadists who enjoy killing and are smiling while they kill.

In their innocent form, a sadist could be a talk or game-show host. America has both; In the afternoon, she has a talk-show that’s been on for 17 years, and a game show that airs in prime-time now in its third season. In January 2020, this comedienne received a lifetime achievement award for all the good things she has done for others through the years. On both her shows, she seems to get a lot of pleasure inflicting pain on guests, including celebrities or contestants, almost always having a smile on her face while sticking it to people, even punishing people who won their task simply because it is in her power to do so. (Out of concern of being sued, I believe Americans can figure out who this is.)

The point of all this is America. You’ve been watching this person for 17+ years. It must mean there are many sadists in America. Why else would people continue to tune in? I doubt it’s to see her dance!

Could this be why people are so mean on social media or just in general in our country?

I’ve heard interviews done with survivors of some of these shootings who’ve said that while the gunman was shooting, they noticed he had a smile on his face. Some of these killers are paying people back for the bullying they may have received or some other injustice they believe they have suffered at the hands of others.

In a James Bond movie I watched several years ago, the female villain had a smile on her face while she was gunning people down; it was like an orgasm for her.

Sports with Weapons

Sports are some of the most violent things on Television, and they have no rating other than suitable for most viewers. Hockey games are famous for their on-ice hockey stick fights, fans almost expect it. What does this say about us?

Parents are starting fights with referees at their children’s games or with other parents because they didn’t like a particular call that wasn’t in their child’s favor.

Do I expect American’s to give up all these things? No! But it does answer a question, and maybe it will cause people to think about things differently. If our world is going to become a more peaceful place, now, we have an understanding of what it will take to accomplish that.

Can America Change?

Is it possible for America to change?  Yes! But it would require an entire shift in how we entertain ourselves. It would require media companies to find a new way to stay in business. If we produced more comedies and dramas without excessive violence, it might succeed.

It would require us to change the kinds of toys boys play with. Boys typically play with guns and knives. Girls dolls and make-up.

It would require a complete shift in how things currently operate not just in America, but in our world. It would produce a world filled with peace and harmony.  Apparently that is not what we want, so killing will continue until people become more aware and decide to make the changes necessary to bring about these kinds of changes.

America has accepted these killings as a normal part of life. It is the choice we have made, so it will, it must continue, until a more aware generation arrives.

Colorado Wedding Cake – America moving Backwards?

A Follower is someone who does what the person they believe in does.

If we are not going to bake cakes, take photographs of gay weddings, then we don’t need to be doing it for heterosexual couples who are living together before they get married and maybe have children.  Sin is sin, as the religious world tells us, and it should be treated equally.

‘Supreme Court will hear Colorado gay wedding cake case. ‘

Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, refused service to Charlie Craig and David Mullins

2019 WASHINGTON — The U.S. Supreme Court said Monday that it would review the case of a Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple because of his beliefs — a legal fight with high stakes for both religious activists and civil-rights advocates.

The outcome “could have a substantial effect around the country, depending on how the court rules,” said Carl Tobias, a court analyst, and professor at the University of Richmond School of Law.

In particular, Tobias said, it’s almost certain to impact the ability of same-sex couples to seek so-called “expressive” services provided by people such as florists or bakers.

“From their perspective, it’s important in terms of dignity and being full citizens,” he said.”

“I’ll sell anyone any cake I’ve got,” he wrote. “But I won’t design a cake that promotes something that conflicts with the Bible’s teachings. And that rule applies to far more than cakes celebrating same-sex marriages. I also won’t use my talents to celebrate Halloween, anti-American or anti-family themes, atheism, racism, or indecency.”

“The government in Colorado is picking and choosing which messages they’ll support and which artistic messages they’ll protect,” said Kristen Waggoner of the Alliance Defending Freedom, which took the baker’s case.

The couple and civil-rights groups, however, see that argument as a thinly veiled excuse for prejudice.

“This has always been about more than a cake,” Mullins said Monday through the ACLU of Colorado, which is representing the couple. “Businesses should not be allowed to violate the law and discriminate against us because of who we are and who we love.”

Freedom for All Americans called the couple’s denial of service a violation of Colorado’s nondiscrimination law.

“All of us cherish the American promise of religious freedom is which protected under the U.S. Constitution, but that doesn’t give anyone the right to discriminate against others,” said the group’s acting CEO, Kasey Suffredini. “This case will be an important opportunity to have a national conversation about the values we all share as Americans and the importance of equal treatment for everyone.”

On the same day, the Supreme Court agreed to hear the baker case, called Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission; it ruled on another religious dispute — finding in a 7-2 decision that religious institutions could seek state money for nonreligious needs.

That outcome stemmed from the efforts of Trinity Lutheran Church of Columbia, Missouri, to get state funding to resurface a playground.

Rules – Judgment – must be the same for all

If Christians in America or the world for that matter want to discriminate, then their rules must be applied equally.

When a heterosexual couple enters one of these businesses, here is what needs to be asked:

  • Are you currently living together?
  • Are you having sex?
  • Are you pregnant, or do you already have children?

If we are going to go backward in our country, which is what discrimination is, separating people lets at least be fair about it.

The Church cannot and should not be allowed to use the bible on a specific group of people one way then completely ignore it on the majority of the population, including those who fill their pews.

If a Christian business began asking everyone who comes into its store the above questions, they would soon find themselves out of business. The church today does not address heterosexual sin, which is what they claim the majority of the people are, and they discriminate against the few so the many can act; however, they choose to.

Growing up in the church world, I can count on one hand the number of messages I have heard that address heterosexual six, but I’ve heard dozens more addressing other sins.

Is it a Choice or Born that way?

The church world convinced itself a long time ago that gay people chose to be that way.

Does that make any sense, Church?

Why would anyone choose to be gay?

The church world, along with the thousands of missionaries sent out into the world, teach and spread racism, and homophobia throughout the world.

Why would anyone choose to be part of a group that is so hated around the world, unless it is who they are!

If the church had asked the above question, it could have had the answer to homosexuality a long time ago. I was born that way.

Yes! There may be some in the world who were molested as children and got off on the ‘gay’ path, but they are not me. I have known since I was five or six, as has every other LGBT person. We are who we are!

Child psychologists have learned by the time a child is six or seven. The child knows who they are.

In my view, the church of the twenty-first century is about as far away from God as you can get. Slandering his name instead of living the way he told us to live in his word.

At some point, the church is going to have to decide what they are going to believe collectively.  We have already had church splits happen in our country over the gay and lesbian issue.  The devil must be laughing his little red ass off!

Last Days

I believe the church today is nothing like the early churches, and that is the whole point Revelation chapter 2 & 3 is trying to make, but most people who are studying revelations are missing the point.

Church, if the rapture happened today, 99% OF YOU ARE GOING TO BE LEFT HERE, AND YOU WILL GO THROUGH THE TRIBULATION! Think about that for a while.

The majority of the church today is not doing anything that Jesus told us to do.  We are little more than a cult.

A believer, A follower is someone who does what the person they believe in did. You don’t just read about it. Jesus raised the dead, healed the sick, spoke in tongues. Few believers today do the Word, and those who do are judged by those who don’t.

James said, “Don’t just read the word, DO WHAT IT SAYS!”

I read a book last year, ‘Conversations With God – book one’ by Neale D. Walshe and God told him, the gospels were written years after the disciples died, which means the information was second and third hand information. A New revelation of God in the twentieth century, not a nineteen hundred-year-old message.

I guess it had never occurred to anyone in the church that the Bible passed through many hands before it got to us, and since man likes to add things along the way, our bible is not in its purest form. Man often embellishes when he tells a story.

Anybody can call themselves a Christian, but it is only the man or woman who lives as Christ told us to live who is. This rules out the majority of the Church world in 2020.

Trump, Pence, and the lot of them should be ashamed of themselves and be on guard. God is watching! Judge others and you to will be judged!

How this case resolved

The Supreme Court ruled that a Colorado baker who refused to create a custom wedding cake for a same-sex couple was treated unfairly has been met with a fury of reaction at the beginning of LGBT Pride Month

Conservatives are praising the decision as a win for religious freedom while the LGBTQ community see it as a step in the wrong direction. GLAAD was also quick to say this isn’t a case of “religious freedom,” but it is one about “religious exemption.”

Until Next Time,

David

Are we the United or The Divided States of America?

I recently enrolled my first book, The Adventures of Daniel, Jonathan, and Mark into Amazons KDP Select program that means for the next 90 days; it will be exclusively available on Amazon.

If you enjoy gay erotica I encourage you to check out the book. It’s been two years since the books release.

I am editing book 2 in the series and also thinking about splitting the different short stories into books. There seems to be an appetite for erotica shorter stories.

I got sidetracked this past year with other things and many distracting thoughts, so I wasted a lot of my time.

I want to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year 2020! I hope this is a year of growth for everyone.

Happy New Impeachment Year America

Our Christmas & New Year’s present from the Democrats is the Impeachment of President Trump!

Did he err in the Ukraine mess? Probably, but before 2019 we never would have known anything about it. It is not for the people of a nation to know about or understand all the inner workings of our government.

I am disturbed by the whistleblowers who were listening in on the calls. Why were they listening? I have heard no discussion of this, but I am not watching the news 24/7. Some of us have other things to do. Aren’t these people supposed to be protecting our President?

If Obama or Bill Clinton had done the same kind of thing (& maybe they did), would our nation be reacting the way they are?

Part of the whole election of our leader’s philosophy is that we don’t want to or need to know everything that our leaders do. What it takes to keep a nation safe, like America, there are plenty of things we the people don’t need or want to know. We the people don’t know what it takes to keep us safe or in our current lifestyles of aloofness in our world, we seem to like it that way.

Democrats and Republicans are both acting like a bunch of spoiled kindergarteners.

Today we know too much about how things in our country work.

America is becoming the laughing stock around the world; often, we tell other nations how they should do things while having an unkempt house back home!

My How Things Have Changed

When I was growing up in Texas whenever a reporter was interviewing someone, the reporter’s sexuality, political views, etc., were never an issue – I didn’t care what the reporter believed; their job was to report the news, not be a part of the story.

Social Media today allows us to know almost anything about someone, and I’m not sure that it is a good idea. Do we know too much?

Today, when many in the media are interviewing a candidate they do not agree with, I can hear it in their tone of voice or the questions they ask or the disapproving reactions they give during the interview or when they are talking about it to their colleagues. In some cases today, news organizations are telling us what we ought to believe, be it ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox News, or CNN.

People on the Left have been out for Trump since the minute he was elected. Pelosi and other Democrats have said they began looking for a way to Impeach Trump from almost the moment he was elected!

Does anyone else have a problem with this?

What has happened to us?

How Social Media is Destroying America

Ellen Degeneres, last September,2019 was photographed at a Cowboys game sitting next to former President George Bush and the LGBTQ community as well as many others had a meltdown.  On her show the following week, she addressed the issue and reminded all of us that we need friends, even though we may not necessarily agree with every position they have on issues.

Many in America are punishing people using social media; people who they may have liked before, simply because a person is seen with people they do not like or agree; or they disagree with their position on an issue.

Is this the America we want?

What happens when we become one of the people others do not like? We will become victims of the very rules we helped write, and that is what is beginning to happen to people with these extreme views.

America has become a nation where everyone expresses their opinion about everything. Some in our country live their entire lives online.

Several years ago, another comedienne, Kathy Griffin, appeared holding the severed head of our President in her hand. I’m sure people like her thought this was funny, but I was proud of the public backlash against the move. Even those on the Left thought this went too far.  Mrs. Griffin’s career is still recovering from the misstep.

Granted before Trump was elected, the only exposure most of America had had of him was through The Apprentice. Trump was normally only seen twice on the show. The first time introducing the contestants to their task for that show, the second was in the boardroom where two of his children sat.

Trump seems used to having people run interference for him or having a spokesperson. I’m sure he’s had his share of attorneys who normally do the talking, and he is there for photo opportunities; Trump enjoys the attention!

America knew of him through His brand Trump, which meant a certain level of luxury and panache.

From Bad Trade to Better

Trump is a negotiator! Many of the photos of him in Trump Tower show him with a phone in his hand. That is who he is and what he does. Negotiation involves giving and taking. Duh! In his office in Trump Tower, it looks no larger than an average master bedroom closet.

Trump is in the process of getting America out of many of the bad deals former presidents and their administrations had negotiated to deal with trade and other issues.

I am amazed at all the bitching from Washington about all this. It is a process. One step at a time; Trump has begun the process, he may or may not finish it.

Commentators and politicians alike are griping their heads off. Help the man or shut up!

Quit standing in Trump’s way. The deals he’s negotiated to help farmers will help them. It’s not perfect! It’s a start. If you want to bitch, direct it towards the administrations that got us into the bad deals in the first place.

In an election year, patience is not the thing to be asking for, but it is what is needed.

Obama Mocks Trump

I have heard Obama said some things at a dinner one night in 2012 that hit Trump the wrong way, and that is why he ran for President. I agree with some who have said Trump did not want to be president.

Some of the decisions in our courts are taking us backward instead of forward.

Do we want a segregated America again? That is where we are going!

AMERICA WHAT DO YOU WANT? DO YOU KNOW?

It’s going to be difficult to vote for someone if we don’t know what we want.

Maybe I should run, couldn’t do much worse than what we have now!

Until next time, read or listen to more books
